14-0712 Gotham’s Light Show

In a bit of Wiki data, the Irish Hunger Memorial is said to be located on a one-half acre site at the corner of Vesey Street and North End Avenue in the Battery Park City neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City, and is dedicated to raising awareness of the Great Irish Famine – referred to by the Irish as ‘The Great Hunger’ or An Gorta Mor in Irish Gaelic – that killed over a million people in Ireland between 1845 and 1852. Construction of the beautiful structure began in 2001 and was completed and dedicated in July 2002. (wiki data)

In this capture, the sharp black and white lights of the Irish Hunger Memorial, creates a beautiful contrasting light show in the heart of NYC. With the Freedom Tower as a backdrop, this capture was one of my most colorful to-date. “Light, in its truest form serves as guidance and energy. However, in the absence of light, there is darkness.” -iJustShoot.com.
